Back on the screen for a third time is the entire beloved cast of Hotel Transylvania. Drac (Adam Sandler) reprises his role as a single parent to Mavis (Selena Gomez) but now the roles are reversed. Instead of being the overly protective father who has his hands full running his hotel for monsters while keeping track of Mavis and grandson Dennis (Asher Blinkoff), it is now Mavis who minds her Dad’s every single move. Drac’s daughter decides her Dad needs a vacation because he seems lonely and they have not had time away from the castle. She books a surprise vacation via Gremlins Airlines and takes the entire Drac pack along.

Longtime buds Frankenstein ( Kevin James), Werewolf Wayne (Steve Buscemi), Invisible Man Griffin (David Spade), and Mummy (Keegan-Michael Key) along with their families join the adventure aboard a luxury cruise line that starts from the Bermuda Triangle with the lost city of Atlantis as its final destination. While on board, Drac seems to have “zing-ed” (fallen madly in love) on the ship’s shapely human captain Ericka (Kathryn Hahn) not knowing that she has a dastardly secret.

Mavis suspects something not quite right about the captain and here is where the film unfolds. I found myself laughing on many occasions like when Wayne and his wife left their wild little wolves at the ship’s kiddie camp. The pack, of course, drives the poor fish-in-charge crazy but leaves Mr. and Mrs. Werewolf time to relax for the first time. Then there’s the DJ showdown between Jonathan (husband of Mavis) and the evil Van Helsing (Jim Gaffigan). Get ready for some major music throwback as the two characters try their best to destroy and, on the other hand, save Atlantis from The Kraken (Joe Jonas).

Drac zings!

Two hours of light family fun, witty dialogue and monster-rific adventure is what this latest installment has in store for moviegoers. So if you’re looking for hearty laughs and a good time with the brood this long weekend, do watch Hotel Transylvania 3. Out in theatres now!.
