“A woman can carry a bag but it is the shoe that carries a woman.” – Christian Louboutin.
I look at my shoe collection and pray that my current weight is not directly proportional to the amount of shoes I’ve collected. I just keep adding and adding and adding . My love for shoes is so big that I need another room to hold them. 🙂 But, I digress. This post is devoted solely (pun intended) to one of my favorite brands MELISSA.
The Brazilian shoe brand has now been producing its jelly shoes for over a quarter of a century. The shoes are fashionable , easy to maintain and constantly evolving when it comes to its designs. It claims to use eco-friendly plastic too. Over the years, Melissa has partnered with fashion mavens Vivienne Westwood, James Wu and very recently with Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel’s infamous creative director and resident house designer). Ladies, if you love CHANEL but can’t afford to buy the brand, this is the closest you can get to owning one!
When I chanced upon the MELISSA store in SM AURA, I initially just wanted to take pictures of the shoes. But when I saw the Karl Lagerfeld’s pointed flats—my oh my – my eyes grew bigger and bigger. “Miss can I try this and this… and that one too , please!” All thoughts of taking photos for the blog left my mind.
Fashionable Flats
There were so many designs to choose from. I’ve chosen a few that caught my eye.
Scoops of Ice Cream
Two-colored Heels
Super Comfy Flats
Ballerina Flats
Flowers, Wings, Jewels, Hearts, Animal toes and TINK!
Cherries, Chocolate bars and Smileys
THE BQP COLLECTION
The adoreable plastic soles are quite expensive. Price starts at about PHp 2,800. It’s a good investment , in my opinion. The pairs I’ve bought have not deformed over time and is Mommy-friendly too. It has proven resistant to this crazy heat, spills from milk and juices, and the marks my children leave when they step over Mom’s feet.
Striped Wedges
The Reds
Designer Shoes
My fascination for jelly shoes extends to designer brands.
GUCCI
Salvatore Ferragamo
NO CURE, NO PROBLEM
The title to this post is an admission and is self-prophesizing. There will certainly be more confessions in the near future. I’m afraid that there is no cure for what ails me. I am a happy shoe addict and will remain as one. I shall gladly share more fabulous shoe finds in the coming posts!
