Barely six months since its opening last January 2025 at Alabang West Parade along Daan Hari Road, Pedro The Grocer (PTG) has managed quite a following. Offering freshly baled artisanal bread, delectable pastries, housemade gelato from Antonio’s , frozen food, gourmet butters and spreads, local delicacies — PTG has quietly established itself as a destination for the discerning shopper.

One wall is filled with all kinds of packed local treats fro Balay Dako like biscocho, otap, tarts and toasted mamon. All are perfect pasalubong to friends and family.  Below the rows of delicacies  are  jars filled with different flavored cookies.

To the far right is a lit shelf with rows of pastries. We came at half past 10 in the morning and saw freshly baked bread being taken out of the counter and onto the display cases. Nothing smells like freshly goodies! Oh and the croissants —- my goodness! They were so hefty and perfectly shaped. Mind you, we know that they are made with butter and not margarine ( croissants will come out curved). The pain au chocolat and cheese rolls caught our eye so we grabbed a couple of those before we perused the other sections.

Simply delicious!

My daughter loves lengua de gato and the ones they sell here lives up to the hype. (She started eating them in the car and was savoring each piece with gusto!) The tuille waffle cookies (parmesan), and classic ensaymada are also winners in our books!

Over at the frozen section, there were plenty of options for quick meal fixes like beef lasagna, callos, pizzas (4 flavors), pork barbecue skewers, smoked bacon, and even crispy pata! Further down is a section dedicated to spreads and curds.

It’s wine o’clock. Grab a bottle or two to pair with your meal.

The highlight of our visit has to be the ice cream by Antonio’s stop. By the scoop (in cup or cone) or in pint-size, the housemade ice cream come in unbelievably delicious flavors like banana with caramelized white chocolate, caramel macchiato, cookie dough etc. Usual flavors like chocolate, vanilla and ube are also available. There’s also sugar-free options (dark chocolate).

All in all, it was an exciting first visit for us. We ended up leaving with two bags full of Pedro The Grocer goodies!
