Mega Magazine has mounted yet another successful event – the Mega Pinoy Pride Ball 2015.  The country’s top movers, game changers and achievers were given recognition that evening.  Held last Independence Day at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-la Hotel, the occasion brought together influencers from different industries. Guests were asked to come in “revolutionary red” obviously to echo the mindset revolution that was the theme of the night.

The People’s Champion with The BQP. Manny Pacquiao has single-handedly put the Philippines in the global stage. Despite his recent setback, Manny remains an inspiration to millions of Filipinos.

The current  winners were chosen as the faces of the #NewPH campaign.  The evening was made more meaningful when previous awardees presented the trophies to the new set of winners.
The eminent list includes Georcelle Sy (G-Force), Tim Yap, Rissa Mananquil Trillo and Jacque Guttierez  (Happy Skin), Francis Flores (Jollibee Foods), dining entrepreneurs Hindy Tantoco (Holy Carabao! Farms), Marco Lobregat (Ministry of Mushrooms) and Kat Azanza (Juju Eats), Rhea Matute (CITEM), film mavericks Antoinette Jadaone and Dan Villegas (“English Only Please”), Crystalle Belo (Belo Medical Group), musician Gab Valenciano and international fashion designer Michael Cinco.

Singer KZ Tandingan kicked off the show with a rousing performance of the classic “Tayo’y Mga Pinoy”.   Her number was greeted warmly by the audience who were comfortably seated in tables adorned by tall gold vases filled with long stemmed red roses.  Aside from the awarding ceremonies, pioneer Mega magazine also showed a film clip to launch the “Buy Filipino” crusade.   Owners of local fashion brands Folded & Hung, Plains & Prints, Maldita, and Penshoppe to name a few, spoke about their ordeals and subsequent successes in keeping their labels afloat (while all the time supporting local workers) and relevant in today’s market.

Film director and writer  Jose Javier Reyes led the attendees in reciting the “Panatang Makabago”.   The oath reminded everyone of their individual capacity to make a change — to better one’s self and the country.  The Mega Pinoy Pride Ball 2015  was truly a night of meaningful causes, promoting the best in the Filipino and of revolutionary revelry!

The night ended with everyone in high spirits!
