There are women who cannot go out without make-up on. They like to cover imperfections with foundation, concealers and whatever else that’s available. Then there are those who are confident enough to start their day with a prayer, a smile, and a bare face. I belong to the latter group. This is not to say that I don’t care enough to take care of my skin — I do! But rather than hide behind a ton of beauty products, this busy queen prefers to show healthy glowing skin. It’s not an easy task but most certainly doable with the right products.
Cleanse, moisturize and put sunblock on. These are and must be the non-negotiables in every woman’s daily skin care routine. I’ve been a satisfied user of Mary Kay (MK) Time Wise 3-in-1 Cleanser for years now. It refreshes, gently exfoliates and refreshes the skin. How effective is it? I like to use it in the morning and then again at night. When I wake up in the morning, my reflection always looks like I’ve clocked in more sleeping hours than I really did. Great right?
What I’m really excited about is MK’s newest line, the Lumivie. Infused with black pearls (boosts skin energy and brightens), Opti-Bright Complex (disperses the accumulation of uneven skin tone), and Samphire (retains water in the skin, moisturizes), the intensive serum (P2,599) and moisturizer (P2,399) tandem promises and delivers.
Lumivie improves skin tone, makes your face brighter and is proven to lessen dark spots.
Serum vs Moisturizer
Fortunately, I do not have spots or dark areas on my face. If you do, then try Lumivie because it has been proven to address these. What bothers me, though, is the occasional dryness and dull skin. I also obsess about my jawline and neck area. So for the past two weeks, I’ve been religiously cleansing and applying both the Lumivie serum and moisturizer (in that order). The serum is lighter and penetrates the deeper level of the skin while the moisturizer is a bit thicker /creamier. Moisturizing keeps the skin hydrated.
As in everything, all good things take time. I’m extra careful when trying potions because I have sensitive skin and some products have caused outbreaks in the past. The Lumivie collection, thankfully, is suitable for all types of skin. So what’s the verdict? A healthy, even toned and supple skin that belies my age! Now on my third week, I use the serum and moisturizer at night because I like to take my time in applying it.
Every experience is different for every woman. But if you like facing the world head on and bare-faced like I do in most days, then Lumivie is something you should definitely try. Remember make-up serves to enhance one’s beauty but it all starts with a clear and lustrous canvass.
