The excitement is building up! It seems like the H&M “OPENING SOON” signs have been up forever and still the doors remain closed. Allow me to show you a sneak peek of what is coming to our shores via the giant Swede retail brand. An invitation to the H&M showroom made the BQP giddy like a kid on Christmas morning! I was warmly greeted by the stylish showroom manager Nikki Verzo. She walked me through the impeccably arranged rack of clothes and answered my questions regarding fabrics and prices. ” H&M will enter the Philippine retail clothing market with exciting and fresh designs from its 2014 Autumn/Winter Collection. To customers who have bought from our stores abroad, we assure you that the pricing will more or less be the same as in the other Asian countries. We have cropped tops that will sell for as low as Php280, accessories, bags and shoes — all will be accessible at competitive prices. The fans of the brand won’t be disappointed.”
To those who have read my previous fashion reviews, I have mentioned that I am a fan of dark hues. Black, blue and greys are the top three colors I subscribe to. So I immediately gravitated to the far end of the floor where the STUDIO LINE was. This is the high-end collection of H&M. Done in luxurious fabrics (mixed with suede, faux fur and sherpa wool) and in the somber colors I prefer—it was love at first sight! The Autumn/Winter collection also included whites and creams in pristine and modern cuts.

THE LOOKS I LOVE
THE BQP joins the rest of Manila in waiting for the H&M stores to open. All Nikki can say is that “we ‘re still waiting for news ourselves.”
Please forgive my feeble attempt in showing the clothes. I am in no way or form a model nor am I trying to be. I just thought that wearing some of the pieces would give y0u an idea how the clothes would fit an Asian woman. I hope that you enjoyed this lookbook! I’ve been invited to come and visit the showroom again just before the opening. That second lookbook should be as exciting if not more than this one! Until my next post…
