It is every girl’s dream to wear the perfect gown on her wedding day.  We spend hours and hours glossing over magazines, looking online and even keeping tab on celebrity nuptials (lest we miss out on the latest trends).   Internationally,  Vera Wang,  Carolina Herrera and  the brand  Marchesa are known (and revered) for creating bridal gowns that are classic masterpieces.  They have dressed  up the crème de la crème  of  Hollywood actresses and other prominent personalities.

In Manila,  designer extraordinaire Francis Libiran  is the go-to designer of  local tinseltown.  Recently, he mounted a successful bridal show at the Manila Peninsula Hotel  aptly titled AVEC AMOUR (‘With Love’)  The collection drew  “oohs”,  “aahs” and “wows” from the audience. Gowns with exquisite lace and detailed craftsmanship adorned the runway.  I especially loved the ballerina gowns with the side pockets.  So beautiful and functional too!

Kim Jones was a vision in her beautiful white gown.  The heavy beading was so meticulously done.

The collection showcased different cuts and shades – from the expected white to delicate nudes.

Venus Raj, Ari Arida and Shamcey Supsup lived up to their titles as Queens. All three were regal in their tight fitting gowns.   EJ Falcon, stands out as a dashing groom.  In contrast, I’m not such a fan of Christian Bautista’s  blazer.

Modern Day Bride — For the not-so-blushing bride, this could be the gown for you. Made of multiple patches of leaf- shaped cuts, this dress is a definite head- turner!

All eyes are on Shamcey.

Iza Calzado had to walk very slowly in this cream mermaid gown. Later she said that she must’ve been the most “voluptuous” of all the girls who walked that night.

EJ Falcon, Jake Cuenca and Sam Milby – Good looking and great walkers.

Here’a another look at the versatile actor in a Francis Libiran black suit with textured blazer.

Heavenly creations greeted the audience at the foyer.

Also shown to the invited guests — The stunning men’s watches embellished with diamonds. (PHp300k and up)

QUESTION:

1.  Which bridal gown is your favorite and why?

The BQP certainly had a wonderful time at the fashion show. Thank you Francis Libiran and to my friend FF for the invitation!

The show was a total success! Francis Libiran was given a standing ovation in the end –  a rousing adulation he truly deserves.

  1. As little girls we dream of the day that we can be princesses. Everyone wants to marry their prince charming in an elegant wedding. We all dream of our wedding day…We can be the princess for a day in a beautiful white gown walking on rose petals and dancing with our prince charming : )
When the time comes and I’ll be that princess…I will choose the gown of Kim Jones because of the ballerina look, beadings and side pockets. Beadings can add a glamour to a gown.
I also like Shamcey’s gown because of its elegant look and a bit of a conservative concept because it’s not an “off shoulder” wardrobe. Simple but elegant with lots of lace. Shamcey’s gown caught my attention. Now, i already know which bridal gowns I like…It’s time for me to search for my prince charming 🙂 Just Kidding!
Kudos to this post BQP and I’ll consider this in the future 🙂

  2. I’d pick Iza’s gown and Jake Cuenca as my groom! 😉 Yay! Hahaha kidding. Great post! Excited to meet my prince charming ♡

  3. Francis Libiran is a genius. Bead work at its finest. WORLD CLASS. The modern bride “leafy” gown made me smile 🙂
I love FL 🙂 proud to be filipino!
